Use of Thermocork on Glass Roofs

Conservatories and Orangeries continue to be a popular addition to households, however we repeatedly hear of the age old problems of them being too hot in the summer and to cold in the winter months.

Thermocork can be an extremely cost effective way of solving this problem. Rather than having a new lightweight tiled roof installed at great expense, the option of spraying with insulting Thermocork can be much more suitable. The product can be directly applied to glass. It will not allow heat transfer, thus keeping heat in, in winter months and heat out in summer months.

The option is also available to use on the inside surface to produce the effect of a standard white ceiling.

How it works.

Heat can be transferred by conduction, convention or radiation, or due to a combination of those 3 ways.

Heat always moves from the warmest areas to the coldest ones, seeking for a balance. It is known as Zeroth law of Thermodynamics. The bigger the temperature difference, the faster heat will flow to the coldest area.

Functions and characteristics –   It save’s in energy use, enhancing the thermal resistance of the                        building envelope.

It improves thermal comfort.

Insulation Advantages

Incorporating thermal insulation in buildings contributes to

Energetic & Economic saving

Including thermal insulation reduces.

Heat or cold losses (summer/winter) within the building, therefore the energy required to heat or chill rooms will be reduce and it will mean a reduction on the energy bills.

An improvement in comfort

It helps the user maintain a comfortable temperature inside the house.

Reduce Emissions

A thermally well insulated house contributes to reducing energy consumption and therefore to reduce greenhouse effect emissions.
